Mahwah, NJ: The Kean University field hockey team defeated Ramapo College 4-0 today in NJAC action. The Cougars improve to 6-9 overall and 2-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners fall to 3-12 overall and 0-4 in the league.
Kean scored two goals in the second and third quarters as four different Cougars found the back of the net. Madison Brege scored in the 25th minute in the second quarter off a pass from Jazmyne Frack before Maddison Gonzales tallied her third goal of the year in the 28th minute, 2-0. In the third quarter, Frack picked up the team's third goal in the 35th minute before she added an assist in the 39th minute as Kelsey Corbett tallied her 5th goal of the season for the 4-0 score.
The Cougars held a 12-3 advantage in shots on goal in the game along with a slight lead in penalty corners, 6-5. Daniella Maresca posted three saves for Kean in goal while
Michelle Kukan recorded eight saves for the Roadrunners.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 26th when they host TCNJ in NJAC action at 4pm. The Roadrunners will also honor their senior class prior to the start of the game.
