Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's swim team defeated the Bearcats of Baruch College this afternoon, 139-97. The Roadrunners improve to 2-1 overall while the Bearcats open their season 0-1 overall.
The Roadrunners won 10 events as they opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay with a combined time of 1:58.94. The team was made up of
Isabella Hanson,
Grace Korey,
Valeria Pages and
Cami Yovich. Alazane Sudupe won the 1,000 freestyle, touching the wall in 11:24.91 while Korey and Pages went 1-2 in the 200 freestyle with times of 2:06.98 and 2:07.72. Korey also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.91 while the Roadrunners grabbed the next two finishes in
Camila Mercado (1:14.17) and
Maddy Joe finished third in 1:24.22. Sudupe won the 200 fly (2:22.24) and Taylor won the 50 free (26.33 seconds) and 100 free (58.84 seconds). In the 50 free Yovich clocked in at 27.00 for second place while also posting a second place finish in the 100 free in 59.35. Hanson won the 200 backstroke out touching the Bearcats at the wall in 2:20.36 while
Mairin Huston placed third with a time of 2:25.82. Korey earned another first place finish in the 200 breaststroke when she posted a time of 2:37.90 before Sudupe won the 500 freestyle in 5:43.71.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, October 26th when they travel to Hartwick College for a tri-meet that will also feature Marywood University. The meet is set to start at 1:00 PM.
