Jersey City, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated New Jersey City University tonight on the road in NJAC action, 3-0 (25-20, 25-24, 27-25). The Roadrunners move to 2-7 overall and 1-1 in the conference while the Gothic Knights even their record to 8-8 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC.
Ramapo recorded double digit kills as a team in all three sets in the road win as they collected 38 total kills on 95 attempts with 20 errors.
Riley Stewart led the team with 15 kills and 11 digs while she added one ace and one assist.
Amanda Fatouh and
Emily Shea each recorded seven kills.
Katie Bishop posted a team high six aces in the match along with a team high 30 assists.
Kaitlyn Van Zile led the way with three blocks while Fatouh and Shea posted two each. On defense, Fatouh and Bishop also tallied ten digs each.
For NJCU, Brenda Gonzalez led the way with eight kills, two aces and nine digs. Brianna Melanson posted seven kills while Kiki Lugo added six. Keyanni Overstreet dished out a team high 21 assists while Carly Everett helped on defense with six digs. The team recorded 25 kills on 101 attempts with 17 errors.
Ramapo returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 3rd when they host Rowan University in NJAC action at the Bradley Center at 7pm.
