Camden, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team earned their fifth straight win with a 66-40 win over Rutgers-Camden University. The Roadrunners improve to 8-5 overall and 5-2 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raptors now stand at 0-14 overall and 0-7 in the conference.
Four players scored in double figures for the Roadrunners as they were led by
Jada Thompson with 14 points and ten rebounds. This is her fifth double double of the season.
Shannon Burns added 13 points, nine rebounds and three blocks while
Carley Martin contributed with ten points, four assists and three rebounds.
Lauren Flatt also posted ten points while adding two steals and two rebounds. Ramapo scored 26 points in the paint while they held their largest lead in the fourth quarter, 61-32. The team shot 40% (26-64) from the field, 28% (6-21) from the three-point line and 61% (8-13) from the free throw line.
Rahzirah Blocker and Taja Brown each scored 12 points for the Scarlet Raptors while Blocker pulled down a team high nine rebounds. Maniya Simon contributed with seven points, four steals and two rebounds. The team shot 22% (12-54) from the field, 6% (1-16) from the three-point line and 68% (15-22) from the free throw line.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday night at the Bradley Center when they host NJAC rival William Paterson University (4-10/2-5 NJAC) at 5:30 PM.
