Chester, PA: The Ramapo College women's swimming team competed at Widener University this afternoon in the final regular season meet of the season. Widener defeated the Roadrunners, 164-94, while Misericordia University also posted a 186-73 win over Ramapo.
Cami Yovich grabbed a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:07.33.
Alazne Sudupe finished second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:25.13 while
Meghan Cortez-Fields won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.84 seconds.
Camila Mercado and Yovich went 2-3 in the 100-yard breaststroke as they posted times of 1:14.15 and 1:14.26 while Sudupe placed third in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:30.72. Mercado also posted a second place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke as she touched the wall in 2:47.21. Yovich added a third place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:43.43 while Cortez-Fields added a second win in the meet in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.63. Cortez-Fields placed second in the 200-yard IM in 2:19.62 while Sudupe placed 4th in the same event in 2:26.36.
Ramapo will now look to the first-ever New Jersey Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championship Meet. The meet will kick-off on Thursday, Feb. 15th and run through Sunday, Feb. 18th in College Park, MD at the University of Maryland.
