East Patchogue, NY: The Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's Long Island women's soccer team earned a 1-0 win over visiting Ramapo College tonight at Danzi Stadium The Golden Eagles remain undefeated at 2-0 on the season while the Roadrunners move to 0-2 overall.

Ramapo almost got on the board just 44 seconds into the game as
Carla Goodwin's shot was saved by the SJCLI. Ramapo posted six more shots in the first half including 2 more on goal but could not find the back of the net. Ramapo outshot the Golden Eagles 7-3 in the first half.

Late in the second half, SJCLI would get on the board as they were awarded a penalty kick in the 84th minute (83:04). Erica Urbancik stepped up and converted to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 advantage with just under seven minutes to play. Ramapo got one more shot off in the final minute of play but it was not on frame as SJCLI came away with the 1-0 victory.

For the game Ramapo held a 10-8 advantage in shots including 4-2 on goal. The Roadrunners also earned two corner kicks to the Golden Eagles three.
Makenna Tahbaz made one save in the net for the Roadrunners while Kristin Vahle posted four saves for SJCLI.

Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, September 9th when they travel to Brooklyn, NY to take on Pratt Institute in a non-conference game at 12:00 PM.
