Purchase, NY: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team remained undefeated with a big non-conference win over Manhattanville College, 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 28-26, 25-17). The Roadrunners move to 2-0 overall while the Valiants now stand at 1-2 on the year.
Manhattanville took the first game 25-22 before Ramapo won the next three sets including a 28-26 win in set three. The Roadrunners were led by
Kalme Moncavo who recorded a team high 11 kills while adding 16 digs, two blocks and two aces.
Maliyah LaBrie added ten kills, three aces, six digs and one block.
Karolina Rodriguez and
Desiree Cruz posted nine and eight kills respectively while Cruz collected a team high six blocks.
Riley Stewart added five total blocks, three kills and two digs and
Cleopatra Diakou dished out a team high 28 assists along with nine digs and one block. On defense,
Krystal Santiago Oquendo recorded a team high 17 digs in the match on defense while adding three assists and one kill.
Kayla Price also picked up nine digs on defense in two sets played. Ramapo collected 42 kills in the four set match on 138 attempts with 18 errors.
For Manhattanville, Loren Hernandez led both teams with 15 total kills while Sofia Morales added ten kills and two blocks. Grace Ballagas posted a team high 26 digs and Vianca Vital dished out a team high 35 assists while adding 14 digs and two kills. The team recorded 43 kills on 157 attempts and 32 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, September 7th for their first home game of the season in the Bradley Center. Ramapo will take on SUNY-Delhi in a non-conference match at 7pm. The first 100 Ramapo students to attend the match with their student ID get a free t-shirt.
