Oneonta, NY : The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team slipped past visiting Ramapo College today in non-conference action, 2-1. The Red Dragons moved to 5-5 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 2-6 on the year.
The Red Dragons got on the board early in the game (1:20) with a goal from Carly O'Connor to put Oneonta up 1-0. Emilia Montgomery assisted on the first goal of the game. Ramapo would tie the score, 1-1, in the second quarter.
Morgan Trotter tallied her second goal of the year with 19:42 on the clock, off a pass from
Ana Plaia. Each team was scoreless in the third quarter before Oneonta put the game-winning goal into the back of the net from Montgomery as Morgan Fleming assisted for a 2-1 lead with 57:33 on the clock.
The Red Dragons held a 13-6 advantage in shots on goal in the game while they posted 12 penalty corners. Maura Leib recorded five saves in goal for Oneonta in the victory. Ramapo collected six penalty corners in the game and Roadrunner goalie
Michelle Kukan recorded nine saves.
Ramapo returns to action on Friday, October 6th under the lights at the Athletic Center Turf Field against Cedar Crest College at 7:00pm.
