Madison, NJ: The FDU-Florham University field hockey team scored in overtime to earn a 1-0 non-conference victory over Ramapo College. The Devils move to 5-6 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 2-7 on the year.
The two teams each had chances to score in regulation before going into overtime. Ramapo tallied seven shots in regulation and FDU-Florham recorded seven. For the game, the Devils posted 11 penalty corners and Ramapo recorded eight.
The Devils scored the game-winner in the first overtime as Morgan Keller collected her second goal of the year. Megan Surgent recorded the assist in the 66th minute (65:14) of action. In the third quarter,
Allison Tanasy recorded a defensive save to hold FDU-Florham off the board.
Michelle Kukan posted three saves in goal for Ramapo in the game. For the Devils, Emily Schlessinger collected five saves in goal in the shutout win.
Ramapo returns to action at home on Friday, October 6th when they host Cedar Crest College in a non-conference game at 7:00pm at the Athletic Center Turf Field.
