WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL EARNS EIGHTH STRAIGHT WIN, DEFEATS JOHN JAY 3-1

Roadrunners match best start in program history at 8-0 overall

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team earned their 8th straight win in a 3-1 (25-19, 18-25, 25-21, 25-19) victory over John Jay College tonight at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners move to 8-0 overall and match the best start in program history while handing the Bloodhounds (6-2 overall) just their second loss this season.
 
Maliyah LaBrie pushed the Roadrunners to the four set win as she put down 12 kills and added 12 digs for a double-double while adding two aces. Kalme Moncavo also collected 12 kills while she added seven digs, two blocks and two aces. Desiree Cruz tallied 11 kills and three blocks while Karolina Rodriquez put down ten kills and added four total blocks including two solo blocks. Cleopatra Diakou dished out a team high 25 assists while Krystal Stantiago Oquendo collected 16 digs on defense to lead the Roadrunners. Amanda Fatouh tacked on ten digs while Riley Stewart posted two blocks and one kill and Alexandra Sacchinelli recorded eight assists and two digs. The team collected 49 kills tonight on 145 attempts.
 
For the Bloodhounds, Josanne Lewis led the way with 13 kills while she added 11 digs. Aniko Ouwendijk added ten kills and Meghan Smith dished out a match-high 31 assists. Faith Harer added 15 digs and Kristin Gretener posted 19 digs to lead the team on defense. John Jay talled 39 kills on 148 attempts with 32 errors.
 
The Roadrunners, who match a program best start at 8-0 overall (2006), will return to action on Saturday morning when they travel to Farmingdale State College for a tri-match. Ramapo will take on the host Rams at 10:00 AM and then go up against Misericordia University at 12:00 PM.
