Box Score Hoboken, NJ: The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team topped Ramapo College, 2-0, in the season opener for both teams.
The Ducks scored one goal in the first period and one goal in the fourth and held Ramapo to just one shot during the game. Gabi Moroney put Stevens on the board with 12:43 on the clock with an unassisted goal for the 1-0 lead. Late in the fourth period, Makenna Quigley put in a shot off a pass from Alisyn Fink to put the Ducks up 2-0 in the 58th minute (57:01).
For the game, Stevens recorded 11 shots on goal to Ramapo's one while they also held a 9-3 advantage in corners. In goal,
Michelle Kukan posted nine saves for the Roadrunners. Lily Wierzbicki started for the Ducks and recorded one save in thirty minutes in action while Maria Dante started the second half to finish the game without having to make a save.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, September 6th when they travel to FDU-Florham for a non-conference game at 4:00pm.
