Box Score Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team came back to defeat host William Paterson University in a five set thriller, 3-2 (25-17, 20-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-11). The Roadrunners move to 7-0 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC.
Ramapo, who came back down two sets to one, won set four to force a winner-take-all set five. The Roadrunners also snapped the Pioneers five match win streak as WPU now stands at 8-2 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC.
Maliyah LaBrie led the Roadrunners with a season high 23 kills while she added 17 digs.
Kalme Moncavo hit .348 in the match with 18 kills while she added 17 digs, two aces and one block.
Cleopatra Diakou dished out a team high 33 assists while she added two aces and seven digs.
Krystal Santiago Oquendo posted a team high 22 digs on defense while adding eight assists.
Desiree Cruz recorded a team high five total blocks and
Riley Stewart added four blocks of her own. Ramapo collected 54 team kills on 158 attempts.
Natalie Zabloudil led the way with 21 kills while she added five blocks and 15 digs. Cecilia Miller added 14 kills, three aces, two blocks and 12 digs while Abby Houpt dished out a team high 43 assists. Three Pioneers collected double digits in digs as Paola Molina led the way with 28 digs while Zabloudil added 15 and Miller posted 12 digs. WPU recorded 52 team kills in the match on 169 attempts.
The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, September 21st at the Bradley Center when they host John Jay College in non-conference action. The match is set for 7:00pm.
