WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL REMAINS UNDEFEATED AT 6-0 OVERALL

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's volleyball team moved to 6-0 overall with two non-conference wins this afternoon at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners defeated both FDU-Florham and the Pratt Institute, 3-0.
 
In the first match of the day the Roadrunners posted a 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-11) win over FDU-Florham. Kalme Moncavo and Desiree Cruz collected double digit kills for the team with 12 and ten respectively. Moncavo posted three blocks, two aces and five digs. Cruz added two digs, two aces and three total blocks while Cleopatra Diakou (13) and Katie Bishop (12) split the setting duties in the match. They each tallied one kill while Diakou posted four digs. Krystal Santiago Oquendo led the way on defense with 17 digs. The team collected 42 kills on 94 attempts and just ten errors to hit .340 overall.
 
For the Devils (6-4 overall), Jada Everett led the team with eight kills while Tori Carrico dished out a team high 11 assists. Charlotte Fruscione posted a team high six digs on defense and Vanessa Freeman led the way with four aces. The team collected just 22 kills in the match on 89 attempts and 20 errors.
 
In the Roadrunners second match of the day, they defeated the Pratt Institute (3-2 overall), 3-0 (25-7, 25-14, 25-9). Cruz once again led the way with 11 kills as she hit .643 in the match. Maliyah LaBrie tallied eight kills, two aces and six digs while Diakou dished out a team high 12 assists. Alexandra Sacchinelli posted eight assists and two aces while Santiago Oquendo posted eight digs to lead the team on defense. The team hit .362 in the match with 35 kills on 69 attempts and just ten errors.
 
For the Cannoneers, Olivia Julich and Emily Sontag each posted four kills while Hannah Leitten recorded a team high 11 assists. On defense, Emma Leavey posted six digs on defense to lead the team. Pratt collected 13 total kills on the match on 65 attempts and 12 errors.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, September 19th when they travel to William Paterson University for the first NJAC conference match of the season at 7:00pm.
