Farmingdale, NY: The Ramapo College women's volleyball (1-0) opened the 2023 season with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-13) win over host Farmingdale State College (0-1).
The Roadrunners, who were led by
Kalme Moncavo with ten kills in the match, pulled away in set one while they had to come from behind to take game two before earning the match win in game three.
Karolina Rodriguez posted seven kills while
Riley Stewart collected five.
Maliyah LaBrie added five aces and 14 digs while
Desiree Cruz posted three aces and one block.
Krystal Santiago Oquendo led the way with 15 digs on defense and
Alexandra Sacchinelli tallied a team high 15 assists. Ramapo collected 33 total kills on 96 attempts with 15 errors.
For the Rams, Kalena Ricketts led the team with 11 kills and two aces while Molly Miller dished out a team high ten assists. Doly DeJesus posted a team high nine digs while adding five kills. Farmingdale recorded 24 kills on 88 attempts and 17 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, September 5th when they travel to Manhattanville College for a non-conference match at 7:00pm.
