Gbarper Dwah was crowned the 100m dash NJAC Champion on day two of the 2023 NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Roadrunners placed 4th overall as they collected 54 total team points over the two-day meet.
Dwah dropped her own school record she set yesterday in the 100m race as she posted a time of 11.97 seconds to win the event. Her time is currently 14th across all NCAA DIII. The women's 4x100m relay team placed third overall with a combined time of 47.14 seconds. The team was made up of
Barbara Exilus,
Rebecca Kneppel,
Meredith Yaskovic and Dwah. Their time is currently 13th across all NCAA DIII. The top 22 individuals in each event will qualify for the NCAA Championships while the top 16 relay teams will qualify.
Individually, Kneppel placed third overall in the 400m race with a time of 56.87 seconds.
Suzanne Zaugg and
Zoey Cassavell posted two top 8 finishes in the 1500m race. Zaugg clocked in at 4:58.40 for a fifth place finish while Zassavell crossed in 5:01.96 for a seventh place finish.
Barbara Exilus clocked in at 1:06.93 in the 400m hurdles to finish in fifth place overall. In the 200m dash, Kneppell placed fourth (24.90 seconds) and Dwah placed sixth (25.19 seconds). Zaugg collected six team points for the Roadrunners as she grabbed a third place finish in the 5k when she posted a time of 19:10.77. The 4x400m relay team made up of, Exilus, Kneppel,
Kacy Ewing and
Meredith Yaskovic, finished in fifth place overall as they combined for a time of 4:05.43. In the field events,
Jade Sampson placed 9th overall in the shot put with a throw of 11.46m.
Those Roadrunners who qualified for the AARTFC during the year will compete at the All-Atlantic Region Outdoor Championships on May 17th and May 18th.
