Mahwah, NJ: The Stockton University women's lacrosse team earned a 21-5 win over Ramapo College today at the Athletic Center. The Ospreys improve to 10-2 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners move to 4-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
Stockton scored the first seven goals of the game in the first quarter before Ramapo got on the board.
Kelly Griffin and
Erin Smeilus scored back-to-back goals as
Colleen Mason earned the assist on both. Stockton added two more in the quarter while Griffin added Ramapo's third goal off an assist from
Lauren Travaglini, 3-9. In the second quarter, Stockton added four more goals while Ramapo added one from Mason, while the Ospreys took a 13-4 lead into halftime.
Ramapo's Mason scored the first goal of the third quarter, her 37th of the season, which also was the team's final goal of the game. Stockton added five goals in the third while they put in three in the final frame for a 21-5 road victory.
Griffin and Mason each recorded two goals in the game for Ramapo while Smelius added one.
Alyssa Curto recorded 11 saves in the game for the Roadrunners.
Mary McLaughlin, Lilly Alessandro, Mary Meduri and Isabella Marinello each hit the back of the net three times for Stockton. Jordan Hawkes collected three saves for the Ospreys in the victory.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, April 11th when they travel to Kean University for a NJAC game at 4:00pm.
