Center Valley, PA: The DeSales University women's lacrosse team earned a 16-15 non-conference win tonight over Ramapo College. The Bulldogs move to 2-1 overall while the Roadrunners stand at 0-1 on the year.

Ramapo led 3-1 after the first quarter as Caitlin Featherstone,
Colleen Mason and
Kelly Griffin each scored their first goals of the 2023 season. In the second, DeSales scored four goals for a 5-3 lead before Featherstone and Mason scored back-to-back goals to tie the game at five. The two teams went back and forth down the stretch as Ramapo's
Kaylie Gresek scored with two seconds remaining in the quarter to tie the game at eight.

The third quarter was a battle as each team had an answer when the other went ahead over the first five minutes of action. DeSales extended their lead to 12-10 with just over six minutes left in the third before Griffin came within one with a goal of her own, 11-12. The Bulldogs added two more goals to Ramapo's one as DeSales led 14-12 heading into the final quarter of action. Griffin and Mason scored back-to-back goals to tie the game at 14 before DeSales went up two, 16-14, with 5:25 left to play in the game. Ramapo answered with a goal from Mason, her seventh of the game to come within one with just under three minutes left on the clock. DeSales was able to hold off the Ramapo offense the remainder of the game to hold onto the one point victory, 16-15.

Mason led the Roadrunners with seven goals while Griffin posted four goals and one assist. Featherstone and Gresek each added two goals in the game. In the cage,
Alyssa Curto posted five saves for the Roadrunners.

Amanda Shultz led DeSales with five goals while Marina Bradley put in four while Megan Landers, Haley Petrosini and Chiristina DiGuglielmo all collected two goals in the game. Michaela Regan tallied six saves in the game for the Bulldogs.

The Roadrunners will play their first home game of the season this Saturday, March 4th when they host the College of Mount Saint Vincent at the Athletic Center Turf Field at 1:00 PM.Â
