Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches today at the Bradley Center. Vassar College, who are ranked #4 in the AVCA Top 15 poll, earned a 3-0 (250-20, 25-18, 25-17) over the Roadrunners. The Brewers posted a 3-0 win over Eastern Nazarene College before Ramapo earned a 3-1 (26-24, 25-20, 27-29, 25-19) victory over the Lions.
Vassar 3, Ramapo 0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-17)
The #4 ranked Brewers hit .327 as a team in their first match of the day. Vaughn Ramsey posted a team high 11 kills while Gavin Van Beveren and Gavin Akoto each collected eight kills and three blocks apiece. Jorge Adames Reyes posted 12 digs to lead the Brewers while AJ Erickson dished out a team high 29 assists.
Andrew Finnegan posted 11 kills and nine digs while
Reece Kirchofer posted eight kills to hit .353 in the match while he added six digs.
Sean Nieves posted six kills while
Jack DiGirolamo added three kills, two solo blocks and five digs.
JoJo Meyer dished out 27 assists while adding two kills and four digs.
Simon Moeller posted a team high 10 digs on defense. Ramapo collected 33 kills on 100 attempts and 17 errors
Ramapo 3, Eastern Nazarene 1 (26-24, 25-20, 27-29, 25-19)
The Roadrunners held off a tough Eastern Nazarene team today in their second match of the day as the Lions pushed the score in both the first and third sets. Three players for ENC tallied double digit kills while they were led by Delfy Soler who posted 17 kills, two assists, three blocks and four digs. Jacob Zarges posted 15 kills and hit .313 in the match while he tallied two aces and two digs. Nathan Jacques added 12 kills, 19 assists, 11 digs and two blocks while Fernando Paredes posted a team high 14 digs. Aaron Huang dished out 16 assists while adding six digs. The team posted 57 kills on 145 attempts and 31 errors.
Finnegan once again led the way on offense with 14 kills while adding 13 digs. Kirchofer posted 12 kills and hit .333 in the match while he added four blocks and ten digs.
Conor Charlow posted eight kills and hit .500 while he added two blocks. DiGirolamo also hit .500 in the match with five kills on ten attempts and no errors while he recorded two blocks, two digs and one ace. Meyer dished out a match high 41 assists while adding two blocks and ten digs. Ramapo hit .260 in the match with a combined 48 kills on 123 attempts and 16 errors.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, February 21
st when they travel to Drew University for a non-conference match at 7:00 PM.
