New York, NY: The Ramapo College women's indoor track and field team opened the season tonight at the NY Armory Track & Field Center as the College of New Jersey hosted the TCNJ Winter Open.
Dale Leonard, coming off a strong showing at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, won the mile run in her first indoor meet of her career. She set a new program record in the race with a time of 5:05.59.
Zoey Cassavell placed 10th in the race with a time of 5:28.26.
Rebecca Kneppel qualified for the finals of the 60-meter dash where she finished 6th overall in 8.00 seconds. Her time is tied for 9th on the program's top ten list. Kneppell also took home a 2nd place finish in the 300-meter dash in 41.45 seconds while
Barbara Exilus clocked in at 43.96 seconds which is now 8th on the top ten list. In the 5k race,
Suzanne Zaugg placed 2nd overall when she clocked in at 18:31.87, setting a new personal best time, moving up to 3rd on the indoor top ten list. In the 1,000-meter run,
Rea Pagatpatan crossed the finish line in 3:41.17 while
Jessica Branham posted marks of 1.37-meters in the high jump and 4.87-meters in the long jump.
The Roadrunners return to action on Friday, December 8th when they travel to Ocean Breeze Athletic Center for the Seahawk Invitational hosted by Wagner College. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.
