Galloway, NJ: The Stockton University women's basketball team held on for a two point NJAC victory over Ramapo College this afternoon, 50-48. The Ospreys move to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
The Ospreys were led by Skylar Fowlkes who recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds while Emma Morrone and Imene Fathi each collected eight points in the game. While both teams struggled shooting from the floor, the Ospreys capitalized on their opportunities at the free throw line shooting 72% in the game as they were sent to the line 22 times. Stockton shot 30% (15-49) from the field and 26% (4-15) from the three-point line. They tallied 20 points in the paint and forced 18 Ramapo turnovers which led to 13 points for the Ospreys.
Olivia Johnstone led the Roadrunners with 15 points as she finished with five three-pointers while
Jada Thompson recorded a double double of 11 points and a team high ten rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Shannon Burns contributed with nine points, five rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Ramapo shot 32% (19-59) from the field, 38% (5-13) from the three point line and 83% (5-6) from the free throw line. The Ramapo defense forced 20 Stockton turnovers which led to 13 points for the Roadrunners.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, December 6th when they host New Jersey City University for a NJAC game at 5:30pm.
