Mahwah, NJ: Ramapo College women's volleyball player,
Desiree Cruz, has been named to the
2023 AVCA All-America Honorable Mention Team announced today by the organization. The selections were made by the AVCA Division III All-America Committee.

Cruz led the team this year with a .409 hitting percentage which included 227 kills, 2.41 per set along with 24 aces and 24 assists. On defense Cruz posted 74 digs and recorded a passing percentage of .950. She led the team with 92 total blocks which is 4th on the single season blocks list in program history. She helped lead the Roadrunners to an historic 2023 season where they won the NJAC Tournament Championship for the first time and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in program history. Cruz was also named AVCA First Team All-Region and NJAC First Team All-Conference this season.

The 2023 All-American squad includes 42 players—14 on the first, second, and third teams—from 23 schools. Cruz is the second Roadrunner to earn a spot on one of the AVCA All-American teams, joining 4x selection Larysa Iwaskiw (2014-2017).
