Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team and New Jersey City University played to a 1-1 draw in NJAC action tonight under the light at the Athletic Center Turf Field. The Roadrunners move to 2-7-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the NJAC while the Gothic Knights now stand at 5-5-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the conference.

Nyrohah Alvarenga put NJCU on the board early in the first half (16:50) with a goal off a free-kick at the left corner of the 18-yard box. Alvarenga's second goal of the season gave the Gothic Knights a 1-0 lead. Just over 11 minutes later Ramapo would tie the score at 1-1. Ramapo's
Amber Maher found the back of the net for her fourth goal of the season (27:29) as
Carla Goodwin and
Kaylee Babasade each earned assists.

In a tightly contested second half where each team had chances to score, it was the goalkeepers who kept the score locked in a 1-1 tie. Ramapo's
Makenna Tahbaz tallied five saves in the second half while Sophia Mannino posted three for NJCU. For the game, Tahbaz tallied nine saves and Mannino collected eight. NJCU held a 18-12 advantage in shots in the game including a slight 10-9 edge in shots on goal. The Roadrunners earned three corner kicks while NJCU recorded two.

Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday night when they host Kean University in a NJAC conference game at 7pm at the Athletic Center Turf Field.
