Mahwah, NJ: The Kean University women's soccer team earned their first win in NJAC action tonight at the Athletic Center Turf Field over Ramapo College, 1-0. The Cougars now stand at 4-7-2 overall and 1-3-1 in the conference while the Roadrunners move to 2-8-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the NJAC.
Kiera Quinn scored early in the second half for Kean to put the Cougars up, 1-0. Anabel Makutonin earned the assist as Kean led with 53:07 on the clock. The Cougars defense came up big in the 88th minute with a defensive save on the goal line off the foot of Ramapo's
Alexa Garcia. The Cougars held the Roadrunners in the final two minutes to secure the NJAC road win.
Kean held a 14-4 advantage in shots on goal in the game and 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Makenna Tahbaz tallied 13 saves in the game for Ramapo, a season high. Abigail Wing posted three saves for the Cougars.
Ramapo returns to action on Friday night when they travel to Rowan University for a NJAC conference game at 6pm. Note: this game was rescheduled from the original date of Saturday, Oct. 14th.
