Mahwah, NJ: The Keystone College field hockey team earned a non-conference road win over Ramapo College this afternoon, 3-0. The Giants improve to 7-3 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 3-7 on the year.
In the first quarter, the Giants got on the board in the first two minutes of action (1:29) with a goal from Miranda Mascia with assists from Vicky Mainero and Lucia Cisilino. In the first half, Keystone held a 12-2 advantage in shots while the Giants posted five penalty corners to Ramapo's one. In the third quarter, the Giants got one more goal when they were awarded a penalty stroke. Mascia converted to score her sixth goal of the season and second of the game and extend the lead, 2-0. The Giants third goal of the game came in the 54th minute of action as Maira Tomada tallied her sixth goal of the season for a 3-0 score.
For the game, the Giants tallied 27 shots and 20 on goal while the Roadrunners recorded three shots and two on goal.
Michelle Kukan posted 15 saves in the net for Ramapo while
Juliana Mikulski and Alison Tanasy each recorded a defensive save in the game. Casey Stratton posted two saves in goal in 45 minutes of action for the Giants and Hannah Osbahr did not need to make a save in the final 15 minutes of play.
Ramapo returns to action on October 11th when they travel to TCNJ to open the NJAC portion of the season at 4:00pm.
