Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team wrapped up NJAC regular season play tonight with a 3-0 (25-7, 25-8, 25-21) win over Rutgers-Newark University. The Roadrunners extend their win streak to nine and improve to 21-1 overall and 7-1 in the NJAC. The Scarlet Raiders move to 9-15 overall and 1-7 in the conference.
The Roadrunners hit nearly .400 in the match tonight.
Desiree Cruz tallied six kills while
Karolina Rodriguez and
Emily Shea each posted five each. Rodriguez added four aces and one dig while
Riley Stewart posted four kills on four attempts with no errors.
Alexandra Sacchinelli tallied 11 assists while
Cleopatra Diakou and
Katie Bishop posted nine and seven respectively. On defense,
Krystal Santiago Oquendo posted a team high six digs while Diakou and
Amanda Fatouh each collected four. Ramapo recorded 33 kills on 58 attempts with just ten errors as they hit .397 overall.
For the Scarlet Raiders, Elvin Karakaya posted three kills and three digs. Maryann Ijeh collected one kill, one solo block and one assisted block. Angelyse Orellana collected a team high five assists while she added one ace and two digs. The team recorded nine total kills on 53 attempts and 14 errors.
Ramapo returns to action when they host a tri-match on Saturday, November 4th while they also will honor their senior class prior to the first match of the day. Ramapo will take on St. Joseph's Long Island at 11am and Wilkes College at 3pm. St. Joseph's Long Island and Wilkes will play at 1pm.
