Montclair, NJ: The Montclair State University field hockey team blanked Ramapo College tonight in NJAC action, 4-0. The Red Hawks move to 7-10 overall and 1-3 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 3-12 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
The Red Hawks got on the board in the first quarter in the 8th minute when Sami Bloom scored her fifth goal of the season for a 1-0 score. It wasn't until the third when Montclair State tallied back-to-back goals from Kylie Compton (35th minute) and Carlie Van Tassel (41:17) to extend the lead, 3-0. Van Tassel would collect her second goal of the game and eighth of the year in the final quarter to cap off the Red Hawk scoring, 4-0.
The Roadrunners recorded three shots in the game, all on goal, while they tallied two penalty corners. Montclair State posted 17 shots on goal in the game while recording 15 penalty corners.
Michelle Kukan recorded 12 saves in goal for the Roadrunners while
Allison Tanasy collected a defensive save for Ramapo. For the Red Hawks, McKenna Laman posted three saves in goal.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 28th when they host Rowan University in a NJAC game at 7:00pm.
