Mahwah, NJ: The Rowan University field hockey team clinched the 2023 NJAC Regular Season Field Hockey Championship tonight with a win over Ramapo College, 6-0. The #18 ranked Profs move to 9-7 overall and 4-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners wrap up the season at 3-13 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
Tess Herman and Sidney Pavlishin scored back-to-back goals in the first quarter to get Rowan on the board for an early 2-0 lead. Julia Cavicchio scored in the second and third quarters to extend the lead before the Profs got two more goals in the final quarter. Pavlishin scored her sixth goal of the season while Sarita Marshall added her second of the year to wrap up the scoring for Rowan, 6-0.
Rowan collected 36 shots on goal in the game and earned 19 penalty corners. Mariah Juliano recorded one save in the shutout victory in goal for the Profs. Ramapo's
Michelle Kukan posted 19 saves in 45 minutes of action in the net while
Erika Roura tallied nine in the final 15 minutes of the game.
Allison Tanasy collected two more defensive saves in the game.
