WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL MOVES TO 18-1 OVERALL IN TRI-MATCH SWEEP

New York, NY:  The Ramapo College women's volleyball team swept a pair of non-conference matches today as they moved to 18-1 overall and extended their win streak to six matches. The Roadrunners defeated United States Merchant Marine Academy, 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-15) and host Hunter College, 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-19).
 
In the first match of the day, Desiree Cruz led the way with 13 kills, three blocks and one ace while Maliyah LaBrie tallied eight kills and seven digs. Kalme Moncavo collected six kills and three aces. Alexandra Sacchinelli dished out a team high 18 assists and four digs while Cleopatra Diakou tallied nine assists. Krystal Santiago Oquendo posted a team high 12 digs. The team recorded 40 kills on 73 attempts with just eight errors to hit .438 in the match.
 
For USMMA (12-9 overall), Brittany Breland led the team with eight kills while Erin Stillinger added five kills of her own. Alexa Tipps recorded a team high 16 assists while Meredith Buchanan posted seven digs on defense. The team recorded 19 total kills on 74 attempts with 17 errors to hit .027 overall.
 
Against Hunter (17-7 overall), LaBrie recorded a team high 12 kills while she added seven digs and two blocks. Moncavo added six kills, two blocks and two digs while Cruz tallied five kills, two aces, two assists, five blocks and three digs. Penelope Rivera added five kills, two digs and two blocks while Diakou dished out a team high 16 assists while she added four digs. Santiago Oquendo tallied 13 digs to lead the team while she added one kill and three assists. Ramapo tallied 36 kills on 93 attempts with 15 errors to hit .226 in the match.
 
For the Hawks, Tessa Winkleman posted a team high nine kills while Bethany Tomaneng recorded a team high 20 assists. On defense, Erin Dugan tallied 12 digs while Izabella Williams added nine digs, five kills and two aces. The team posted 25 kills on 97 attempts with 26 errors.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, October 24th when they host Kean University in a key NJAC match at 7:00pm.
