New York, NY: The Ramapo College women's indoor track & field team hosted the Ramapo Season Opener today at the New York Armory Track & Field Center. The Roadrunners competed against NCAA Division I, II and III athletes along with unattached athletes.
Jade Sampson posted a personal best mark in the shotput with a mark of 11.01-meters. She finished seventh overall while the mark is 5th on the Roadrunner Top 10 List. In the 60-meter dash,
Gbarper Dwah finished first in the finals while
Rebecca Kneppel placed second overall. In the prelims Dwah clocked in at 7.93 seconds while Kneppel finished in 8.06 seconds to qualify for the finals. Due to a system timing error during the 60-meter dash final, those times will not be officially recorded.
In the 60-meter dash unseeded event, Jessica Braham placed third overall in 8.86 seconds.
Barbara Exilus posted a time of 28.45 seconds in the 200-meter dash while
Melissa Adelung clocked in at 30.50 seconds.
Zoey Cassavell recorded a time of 2:30.97 in the 800-meter race while
Suzanne Zaugg finished 7th overall in the 3,000-meter race with a time of 10:55.76. The 4x400-meter relay team, made up of
Dina Ayoub,
Meredith Yaskovic, Cassavell and Exilus placed 7th in a field of 20 teams with a combined time of 4:16.52; which qualifies them for the AARTFC meet.
The Roadrunners return to action on Friday, February 3rd when they travel to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex for the Metropolitan Indoor Track & Field Championships.
