Camden, NJ: The Rutgers-Camden University women's soccer team earned a 3-0 win over Ramapo College tonight in New Jersey Athletic Conference action. The Scarlet Raptors now stand at 3-4 overall and 2-0 in the conference while the Roadrunners move to 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC.
Rutgers-Camden got on the board in the first half when Maresa Savarese scored on a header in the 27th (26:08) minute of action off an assist from Josie Jackson-Connor. The Scarlet Raptors added two goals to their lead in the second half. Emily Owens scored her first goal (66:20) of the season as Lindsay Hernandez posted the assist before Alyson Petro took a pass from Savarese for the team's third goal in the 86th (85:26) minute.
The Scarlet Raptors recorded 27 shots and 18 on goal while the Roadrunners tallied nine shots and four on goal. Rutgers-Camden also held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks in the game. MaKenna Tahbaz posted 15 saves in the game for the Roadrunners while Kayla McKeever tallied four saves for Rutgers-Camden.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 1st when they host NJAC rival Montclair State University at the Athletic Center Grass Field at 1pm.
