Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team opened the NJAC season with a 3-1 (25-20, 25-27, 25-21, 25-18) victory over the Pioneers of William Paterson University. The Roadrunners move to 3-1 overall, 1-0 in the NJAC while the Pioneers now stand at 4-1 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
Stephanie Ross led the Roadrunners with 14 kills while also posting a team high 25 digs in the match. Ross collected two aces and one assisted block.
Amanda Fatouh tallied nine kills, two aces and eight digs while
Caleigh Golabek posted six kills, one assist, two aces and a team high five blocked shots including four solo blocks.
Alexandra Sacchinelli posted 15 assists in the match while
Katie Bishop dished out 14 assists and 15 digs. On defense
Jenna Stolker tallied ten digs while
Emma Moran tallied 16 of her own. Ramapo tallied 38 kills in the match on 147 attempts.
Alexa Jarvis led WPU with 13 kills while Abigail Hayth posted nine. Paola Molina recorded a team high 27 digs while Ava Padwelka collected a team high 37 assists. The team tallied 41 total kills in the match on 172 attempts.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, Sept. 17th when they travel to New Haven, CT for a tri-match with host Albertus Magnus College (3pm) and Sarah Lawrence College (1pm).
