Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team posted a 13-12 double overtime over Rutgers-Camden University today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners now stand at 2-10 overall, 1-4 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raptors are 2-10 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
The Scarlet Raptors scored six in the first quarter while Ramapo posted five goals. In the second and third quarters, Rutgers-Camden added three goals while Ramapo posted four over the same two quarters as the two teams were tied 9-9. The two teams each scored three in the fourth quarter as Ramapo's
Kelly Griffin scored to tie the game at 12 with 2:28 left in the game. Neither team could find the back of the net as the teams went into the first overtime period. Griffin would lift Ramapo to a 13-12 win in the second overtime period as she scored her 24th goal of the season.
Griffin led the team with five goals while she added one assist for six points.
Colleen Mason posted four goals while
Esme Espinosa collected two goals and two assists.
Ella Shade and
Leah Durkin also contributed with one goal in the game.
Alyssa Curto came up big for the Roadrunners in the net with ten saves including one save in the first overtime period.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, April 30th when they travel to #6 TCNJ for the final NJAC game of the season at 1pm.
