Mahwah, NJ: The Kean University women's lacrosse team earned a 19-4 road win over Ramapo College this afternoon at the Athletic Center. The Cougars improve to 7-5 overall, 1-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 1-8 overall, 0-2 in the conference.
Kean scored seven unanswered goals in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead before adding the first two goals of the second quarter, 9-0. Ramapo got on the board with two goals from
Colleen Mason, 2-9. In the third, the Cougars put one in the net before
Ella Shade hit the back of the net for the Roadrunners, 3-10. Kean then scored nine goals, three more in the third and six in the fourth quarter for a 19-3 lead. Mason tallied the final goal of the game for the Roadrunners, her team leading 20th of the season, off an assist from
Brianna Curto.
Dana Meehan led Kean with six goals while Amanda Ehrhart and Kylie Giordano posted four each. Nicole Peters posted six saves in the net for the Cougars in the win.
Mason scored three goals to lead Ramapo while Alyssa Curt tallied 11 saves in the net for the Roadrunners.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, April 16th when they host Rowan University in a NJAC game at 1pm.
