Newburgh, NY: The Mount Saint Mary College women's lacrosse team scored a goal in the first overtime period to slip past Ramapo College, 12-11, in non-conference action. The Knights move to 4-1 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 0-2 on the season.

Ramapo took a 5-3 lead into the second quarter of action as they scored five straight goals in the first.
Colleen Mason got the team on the board in the 13th minute of action with an unassisted goal before
Emma Cowap scored off a free position shot for a 2-0 lead. Mason then scored another unassisted goal and
Lauren Travaglini tallied her first goal of the season to make it 4-0 for the Roadrunners.
Leah Durkin added the fifth goal off an assist from Mason for the 5-0 score. MSMC then scored three straight goals to finish out the first quarter as Ramapo led 5-3. In the second, MSMC outscored Ramapo 4-2 as they were able to tie the game heading into the third quarter, 7-7.

In the third,
Kaylie Gresek tallied two goals for Ramapo while MSMC put three in the back of the net for a 10-9 lead going into the final quarter of action. Megan Shalvey put MSMC up 11-9 with just 3:25 left to play in the game before Ramapo scored back-to-back goals to tie the game at 11 all. Travaglini put an unassisted goal into the back of the net with 1:49 on the clock before
Brianna Curto assisted on the game-tying goal from
Ella Shade with just 15 seconds left in the game, forcing the two teams into overtime. With 1:54 left in the first overtime period, MSMC was awarded a free position shot and Shalvey tallied her 17th goal of the season to win it for the Knights, 12-11.

Mason, Gresek, Travaglini and Durkin all scored two goals for the Roadrunners. Ramapo edged MSMC 28-25 in shots in the game.

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, March 12th when they travel to Kings Point, NY for a non-conference game against the United States Merchant Marine Academy at 12pm.
