Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team dropped a tough match-up to the College of Mt. St. Vincent today, 8-23. With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 0-3. MSV improves to 2-1 on the year.
Ramapo got on the scoreboard first just over a minute into the game with a goal from Esma Espinosa, unassisted, who scored her fourth goal of the season. Just over two minutes later, MSV would answer back as Ava Starace hit the back of the net with 11:44 on the clock to tie the game. The Dolphins took the lead with a goal from Alicia Rodriguez before
Kelly Griffin tied the game for Ramapo with 9:20 remaining in the period. MSV would score four unanswered goals to lead 6-2 with 2:30 on the clock.
Leah Durkin put one more in for Ramapo to end the period trailing 3-6.
Playing a man down for the remainder of the game, MSV would collect five straight goals to take a 11-3 lead and control of the game. Durkin, Griffin (3), and
Lauren Travaglini would each collect goals for Ramapo in the remaining minutes but it wasn't enough as MSV put away 12 additional goals to down the Roadrunners, 8-23.
MSV held a 33-23 advantage in shots while Macey Forg gets the win making six saves in the net. Ramapo's
Alyssa Curto made seven saves for the Roadrunners.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, March 23
rd when they host Centenary at 3:30 PM at the Athletic Center.
