New Brunswick, NJ: The Ramapo College women's swim team finished in 8th place at the 2022 Metropolitan Collegiate Championships. The Roadrunners recorded 339 points at the meet.
Carissa Campbell set two new school records this weekend. She broke her own school record in the 500-yard freestyle when she clocked in with a time of 5:16.26, finishing 5th overall. During the 1,650-yard freestyle, Campbell broke her own 1,000-yard freestyle record with a time of 10:51.18. In the A-Final of the 400-yard IM as she clocked in with a time of 4:49.21 and finished in 8th place. In the 50-yard freestyle B-Final,
Alexa Pappas placed 4th with a time of 25.17 seconds while
Fiona Misiura placed 4th in the C-Final with a time of 25.46 seconds. Misiura broke her own school record in the 200-yard butterfly, she placed 6th overall in the A-Final in 2:10.30. She also took home a 4th place finish in the 100-yard butterfly in the A-Final in 58.37 seconds.
The 200-yard medley relay team posted a time of 1:52.87 and placed 7th overall. The team was made up of Campbell,
Camila Mercado, Misiura and Pappas. The 200-yard freestyle relay finished 13th with a time of 1:45.34 as the team was made up of Pappas, Misiura,
Kaitlin Balasaygun and Mercado. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Mercado placed 3rd in the B-Final with a time of 1:10.50. Pappas finished 2nd in the C-Final of the 100-yard freestyle in 55.65 seconds while Mercado finished 8th in the 200-yard breaststroke with her time of 2:36.68. The 400-yard medley relay team made up of Campbell, Mercado, Misiura, and Pappas, finished 7th overall with a time of 4:14.96. To wrap up the championship meet, the 400-yard freestyle team placed 8th overall when they posted a time of 3:47.42. The team was made up of Pappas, Misiura, Mercado and Campbell.
