New York, NY: The Ramapo College women's indoor track and field team opened the season tonight at the TCNJ Winter Open hosted by the College of New Jersey at the New York Armory.
The Roadrunners saw
Gbarper Dwah (60m dash),
Zoey Cassavell (mile) and
Suzanne Zaugg (5k) each win their individual events. Dwah set a new indoor school record in the finals of the 60-meter dash when she clocked in at 7.69 seconds. Dwah also placed 3rd in the 300-meter dash when she posted her second personal best time of the meet in 41.81 seconds.
Meredith Yaskovic placed 5th overall with a personal best time of 42.02 seconds, also in the 300-meter dash while she took home a 4th place finish in the 60-meter dash in 8.02 seconds, her second personal best of the meet. In the 400-meter dash,
Barbara Exilus placed 6th and clocked in with a personal best time of 1:03.67 and
Kacy Ewing finished in 9th place (1:04.30). Cassavell won the mile run when she crossed the finish line with a personal best time of 5:28.13 while Zaugg won the 5k race in a personal best time of 18:52.11. In the field events,
Jade Sampson placed third overall with a mark of 10.95-meters while Mia Raso finished 9th in the weight throw when she put down a mark of 11.02-meters. The 4x400-meter relay team clocked in with a combined time of 4:17.91 for a 5th place finish. The team was made up of Ewing, Exilus, Cassavell and
Dina Ayoub.
The Roadrunners return to action on Friday, December 9th when they travel to the Seahawk Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex where the meet is set to begin at 1pm.
