Jersey City, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team posted a key NJAC victory over host New Jersey City University, 2-1 this afternoon. The Roadrunners move to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the NJAC while the Gothic Knights now stand at 3-6-3 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
Lauren Vladyka scored her team leading 5th goal of the season in the 43rd minute during the first half (42:25) off an assist from
Jessica Guccione to take a 1-0 lead. Early in the second half (48:31) NJCU would tie the game, 1-1, as Nyrohah Alvrenga posted her 6th goal of the season off an assist from Rachel Amaro. The Roadrunners would get the game-winning goal as
Sam Ingannamorte in the 74th minute for a 2-1 lead as
Ashley Agrillo earned the assist. The Ramapo defense and Emma Conlon held the Gothic Knights the final minutes of the game to earn their first win in NJAC action, 2-1.
Conlan posted four saves in the game in the victory while Sophia Mannino posted seven saves in goal for NJCU. Ramapo held a 19-14 advantage in shots in the game along with a 10-6 edge in shots on goal. The Roadrunners also posted four corner kicks to NJCU's three.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, October 12th when they travel to NJAC rival Kean University for a game at 7pm.
