Newark, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated Rutgers-Newark University tonight on the road, 3-1 (19-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-11). The Roadrunners win their third match in a row and move to 10-8 overall and wrap up the season 3-5 in the NJAC while they clinched the #6 seed in the upcoming NJAC Tournament.
After falling in set one the Roadrunners battled back to defeat Rutgers-Newark.
Stephanie Ross led the team with 18 kills and a team high 13 digs in the match.
Caleigh Golabek collected 11 kills, three assists and a team high three blocks while
Riley Stewart posted nine kills and one block.
Katie Bishop and
Alexandra Sacchinelli split the setting duties as they posted 18 and 15 assists respectively.
Emma Moran and Sacchinelli each collected 11 digs on defense while
Amanda Fatouh posted a team high three aces while she added four kills. Ramapo tallied 50 total kills in the match.
The Scarlet Raiders (1-17 overall, 0-8 NJAC) were led by Alexa Rivera who posted 13 kills and 13 digs. Aliyah Sanchez tallied ten kills while Kaiel Maynor posted nine kills, one ace and 13 digs. Saniyiah Richardson led the team with 23 digs on defense while Jackie Rosario posted a team high 21 assists and three aces. Rutgers-Newark recorded 38 kills in the match.
Ramapo will return to action on Thursday, October 27th at 7pm in their final match of the regular season at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners will take on Hunter College in non-conference action.
