Mahwah, NJ: The College of New Jersey field hockey team earned a 4-0 win over Ramapo College today in NJAC action. The Lions move to 10-5 overall and 4-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners move to 10-5 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
TCNJ got on the board in the 4th minute with a goal from Sophia Foschini who posted her fifth goal of the season off an assist from Jess Hatch. Sophie Popp tallied her 14th goal of the year in the second quarter for a 2-0 lead before the Lions added two goals to their tally in the fourth quarter. Carly Cole posted her 10th goal of the season as Claire Engebreth earned the assist while Engebreth wrapped up the TCNJ scoring with a goal as Hatch tallied the assist. TCNJ recorded ten penalty corners in the game while the Roadrunners recorded 11 including four each in the final two quarters. The Lions recorded 14 shots on goal and Ramapo recorded eight. The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, October 26th when they host Moravian University in non-conference action at 3pm.
