Newark, NJ: The Rutgers-Newark University women's soccer team earned a 3-1 NJAC conference win over Ramapo College tonight at Frederick Douglass Field. The Scarlet Raiders move to 7-8-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 4-8 overall and 1-6 in the conference.

The Scarlet Raiders got on the board early with a goal from Mariana Valencia, her second of the season in the 6th minute (5:36) of action as Tamia Howell earned the assist. Bailey Kellenberger recorded back-to-back goals for Rutgers to end the first half with a 3-0 lead. Kellenberger scored in the 28th minute (27:08) before she added the second goal at the buzzer, her fourth of the year.

For the Roadrunners,
Dina Ayoub posted her first goal of the season as she scored off a pass from
Carla Goodwin in the second half (76:02) to put Ramapo on the board. Katie McLaughlin recorded six saves in goal for Rutgers while
Makenna Tahbaz tallied seven saves for the Roadrunners. The Scarlet Raiders posted ten shots on goal in the game and the Roadrunners recorded seven while both teams posted four corner kicks.

Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 22nd when they travel to Stockton University for a NJAC conference game scheduled for 1pm.
