Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College women's swim team defeated NJAC rival William Paterson University tonight, 110-72. The Roadrunners move to 2-4 overall and 1-4 in the conference while the Pioneers now stand at 9-3 overall and 0-3 in the NJAC.
The 200-yard medley relay 'A' team clocked in with a time of 2:00.76 for a first place finish. The team was made up of
Carissa Campbell,
Camila Mercado,
Fiona Misiura and
Alexa Pappas. The 'B' team placed second overall with a time of 2:16.20. That team was made up of
Kaitlin Balasaygun,
Sophia Cender,
Amy Butcher and
Keila Fane.
Individually, Campbell won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:52.75 while
Katie Riva finished in third place in 6:55.84. Mercado and Butcher went 2-3 in the 200-yard freestyle with times of 2:12.71 and 2:22.18. Pappas won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.26 seconds while Misiura placed third overall in 26.66 seconds. Campbell grabbed a first place finish in the 200-yard IM when she clocked in at 2:23.34 while
Rica De Leon placed third in 2:38.49. Misiura grabbed a first place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.83 while Pappas won her second event of the night in the 100-yard freestyle in 58.03 seconds. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Mercado won when she touched the wall in 1:13.41.
The Roadrunners return to action on Sunday, January 30th when they travel to Widener University for a non-conference meet at 11am.
