Montclair, NJ: The Montclair State University women's swim team defeated Ramapo College, 158-94, today in NJAC action. The Red Hawks improve to 6-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the conference while the Roadrunners move to 1-4 overall and 0-4 in the NJAC.
Taylor Gray won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.21 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:30.41, more than four seconds from the second place finisher. Gray has earned first place finishes in the 100 breaststroke over NJAC opponents, Kean, TCNJ, Rowan and MSU while the team has just William Paterson to take on next week.
Fiona Misiura defeated the field in the 200-yard butterfly by over four seconds with a winning time of 2:18.91. Misiura also won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:02.20.
Alexa Pappas took home a 2nd place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.44 seconds.
Carissa Campbell posted a time of 11:38.30 in the 1,000-freestyle for a 3rd place finish while clocked in at 5:41.11 in the 500-yard freestyle, also a 3rd place finish.
Camila Mercado finished 3rd in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:11.97 while Campbell and Gray went 1-2 in the 200-yard IM with times of 2:24.15 and 2:29.01. The 400-yard freestyle relay team combined for a time of 3:59.13 for a 1st place finish. The "A" team was made up of Campbell, Pappas, Misiura and Mercado. The Roadrunners return to action on Jan. 28th when they travel to William Paterson University for a NJAC meet at 6pm.
