Galloway, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team came back to defeat Stockton University today on the road, 59-50, in NJAC action. The Roadrunners now stand at 7-7 overall and 6-5 in the NJAC while the Ospreys move to 7-10 overall and 5-6 in the conference.

The Roadrunners avenge an earlier season loss to the Ospreys at home in their comeback win this afternoon. Down four heading into the third quarter, Ramapo outscored Stockton 16-8 to take a 34-30 lead into the final quarter of action. In the third quarter, Stockton led 26-20 with 6:57 on the clock before Ramapo went on an 8-0 run to take the lead.
Jackie Ventricelli sank one of two free throws before she and
Bridget Cahill would hit back-to-back three-pointers.
Shannon Burns would convert a free throw for a 28-26 lead before a jumper from Stockton would tie the game at 28 with 4:16 on the clock. Burns then hit a three-pointer of her own to give the Roadrunners the lead for the remainder of the game. Ramapo would stretch their lead to nineteen, 52-33 with a pair of free throws from
Jada Thompson with 2:48 left on the clock, their biggest lead of the game. Stockton would cut the lead to nine with just 42 seconds left in the game but Ramapo would convert their free throws to hold onto the nine point road win.

Thompson led the way for Ramapo with her fifth double double of the season, as she tallied a 21-point game, just one off her season high. She added 15 rebounds, two assists and finished 7-11 from the field and 6-8 from the free throw line. Ventricelli and Burns each collected ten points in the game while Ventricelli added five rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal and Burns totaled six rebounds and one blocked shot. Cahill contributed with eight points, five rebounds and a team high four assists while
Alie Wickersheim collected a season high seven blocked shots in the game while adding four points, two steals and eight rebounds. Ramapo shot 41% (20-48) from the field, 37% (6-16) from the three-point line and 38% (13-34) from the free throw line.

Stockton was led by Grace Sacco who tallied 11 points while Nalya Hill added a double double of ten points and 13 rebounds. Jordyn Madigan added eight points while Ionyonia Alves tallied seven of her own. The team shot 32% (22-68) from the field and 60% (6-10) from the free throw line.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 26th when they host NJAC rival Montclair State University at 5:30pm.
