Mahwah, NJ: The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced the 2022 NJAC Men's Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll and Ramapo College has been tabbed to finish fourth overall.
The Roadrunners return to the court for the first time since early March 2020 as the team did not participate during the 2021 season. Ramapo will take on five opponents who are ranked in the AVCA Top 15 preseason poll while two other opponents received votes.
Conor Charlow returns to the Ramapo lineup after recording 151 kills in 21 matches during the 2020 season. He also posted 17 aces, eight assists and led the team with 53 total blocks and 18 solo blocks.
Jason van der Wilt tallied 134 kills along with 20 aces while he posted 77 digs and 20 total blocks.
Andrew Finnegan contributed with 55 kills, seven assists, 10 aces, 40 digs and three blocks.
Josh Titus dished out a team high 571 assists, 9.21 per set while he added 16 aces, 24 kills and 27 blocks. Titus was second on the team with 100 digs.
Tyler Plitt returns to lead the team on defense. He led the team with 183 digs, 3.00 per set with a .977 passing percentage. Coach Hrehovcik will look to
Sean Nieves, who returns for his junior season, for some significant contributions on the court this year.
"We are excited to compete against the NJAC this season and looking forward to seeing how things play out for the conference. With a lot of good players coming back for us, we are optimistic about our matchups this year," Coach Hrehovcik.
The Roadrunners open the season on Saturday, Jan. 22nd when they host a tri-match with #9 Rutgers-Newark University and #2 Springfield College. Ramapo will take on Rutgers-Newark at 1pm, the Scarlet Raiders and Springfield will square off at 3pm and the Roadrunners will meet Springfield at 5pm.
