Mahwah, NJ: The Rowan University women's swim team defeated Ramapo College, 106-67, in NJAC conference action. The Profs improve to 4-0-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
Fiona Misiura won the 50-yard freestyle event with a time of 26.77 seconds while so also grabbed a first place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.00).
Taylor Gray also grabbed a first place finish in the 100-yard backstroke when she touched the wall in 1:10.48. Fellow teammate
Carissa Campbell and
Sophia Cender went 2-3 in the same event with times of 1:20.13 and 1:25.20 respectively. Cambpell finished third overall in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:38.59 while she also took home third place in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:06.57. Mercado placed third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.47.
The 200-yard medley relay team placed second with a time of 2:01.04. The team was made up of
Rica De Leon, Gray, Misiura and
Camila Mercado.
Ramapo returns to action on January 22nd when they travel to Montclair State University for a NJAC meet at 1pm.
