Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's swim team competed against NJAC rival Montclair State University today in the Roadrunners first virtual meet of the 2021 season. The Red Hawks (2-0 overall) came out on top, 140-93.
Fiona Misiura started the season strong with a first-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly and the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.56.
Taylor Gray clocked in at 1:13.82 for a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
In the 200-yard medley relay the Roadrunners took second place when
Kaitlin Balasaygun,
Madison Riccardi,
Amy Butcher and Kiara Liwag clocked in at 1:58.53. Riccardi posted a time of 6:21.02 in the 500-yard freestyle for a third-place finish while
Eliza Pluckhorn grabbed a second-place finish in the 50-yard backstroke in 30.27 seconds. In the 50-yard breaststroke, Gray placed second overall when she clocked in at 33.55 seconds.
Alexa Pappas posted a time of 26.81 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle for a second-place finish while she placed second in the 100-yard freestyle in 59.41 seconds. In the 100-yard IM, Farrell placed second overall with a time of 1:07.68.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team clocked in at 1:50.12 for a second-place finish. The team was made up of Pappas, Pluckhorn, Misiura and Farrell.
The Roadrunners return to action next Saturday February, 27th when they compete against William Paterson University and Kean University in a virtual meet at 12pm.
