Box Score 2 Union, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team posted one win and one loss today at Kean University's tri-match featuring Immaculata, Ramapo and the Cougars. The Roadrunners first defeated Immaculata, 3-0 before dropping a tough match-up to Kean, 0-3. With the win and the loss the Roadrunners currently stand at 9-7 overall.
In their first match-up of the day they defeated Immaculata University, 3-0 (25-7, 25-10, 25-20) behind seven kills each from
Mack Brower,
Tanner Depuyt and
Sean Flannery. Flannery hit .545 as he led the way with just one error while the team combined hitting .330 with 42 kills on 88 attempts and 13 errors. Joshua Titus collected 22 assists and
Stephen Codispodo dished out 12.
Simon Moeller picked up a team leading nine digs and
Sean Burke recorded three service aces. For Immaculata, John Bohrer led the team with seven kills as they combined for 13 kills and 14 errors on 63 attempts hitting -.016. Garrett Pepper dished out seven assists and Bohrer picked up ten digs in the loss.
Wrapping up the day the Roadrunners dropped a tough match-up to rival Kean University, 0-3 (19-25, 21-25, 24-26). Ramapo was led
Conor Charlow with 13 kills as he hit .522 with just one error on 23 attempts.
Eric Van Thuyne collected eight kills and Codispodo added seven as the team hit 38-93 with 14 errors (.258). Titus collected 36 assists and
Tyler Plitt and Jason Van Der Wilt each picked up nine digs. Kean was led by Jared Ray with 24 kills and Seth Russell with 12 as the team went 43-99 with ten errors hitting .333. Zach Gerken collected 39 assists and Jonathan Meyer and Jared Ray led the defense each with nine digs.
The Roadrunners return to action on Sunday, March 1
st when they host Purchase and Yeshiva beginning at 11am at the Bradley Center.
