Women's Track and Field

RAMAPO TO COMPETE AT NJAC INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College indoor track & field team has their sights set on the 2020 NJAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Monday, February 24th. The Championships will be hosted by Rutgers-Newark University and will take place at Ocean Breeze Track & Field Indoor Facility and begin at 4pm. Follow along with the team with live results provided by Ocean Breeze.
 
The women's team won the NJAC Indoor Team Championship during the 2011-2012 season, the first in program history.
 
Mikayla Sasson currently 2nd in the NJAC in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.88 seconds while Judanicka Julceus is 6th (8.08 seconds) and Judlynn Julceus is 12th (8.13 seconds). Sasson also enters the 200-meter dash event with the 3rd best time (26.53 seconds) in the conference while Juda. Julceus and Judl. Julceus are 9th (26.86 seconds) & 10th (26.99 seconds) overall in conference action.
 
Safiya Ratliff will compete in the mile and the 3,000-meter run. In the mile Ratliff posted the 2nd best time in the conference this season in 5:19.43 while in the 3k she enters the race with the 4th best time (11:02.05). Jennifer Polo has the second best time in both the 3k race (10:52.75) and 5k races (19:17.43). Jessica Hrnciar and Yesenia Escobar will look to finish in the top ten of the 5k as they enter with the 7th (19:58.21) and 8th (19:58.69) times in the conference. Nicole Bertollo will compete in the 800-meter race as she's posted the 9th best time this season 2:28.07.
 
In the field, Nilya Rhoomes will compete in both the long jump and triple jump. She's posted the 9th best mark in the long jump (4.93-meters) while she's recorded the 3rd best mark in the triple jump (11.28-meters).  Alison Mann enters the pole vault with the 5th best jump in the conference this season as she's cleared 2.90-meters while Aly Petruch enters the high jump with the 8th best mark as she's cleared 1.45-meters.
 
On the men's side, the Roadrunners will look for a few repeat Champions on Monday night. Jose De La Cruz will look to defend his crown in the 800-meter run. He currently holds the 8th best time in the conference this season (1:58.93) and will have to go up against a strong field, including his teammates. Charlie DaSilva holds the NJAC's best 800-meter time this season (1:55.24) while Jason Rodriguez and Chris Andersen hold the 3rd (1:56.61) and 4th (1:57.78) best times. Max Dubac rounds out the Roadrunners in the top ten of the 800-meter race as he holds the 9th best finish so far this season (1:59.00).
 
Kenyon Fenderson, Brandon Brunson, Kevin Santos will all compete in the 60-meter & 200-meter dash events. In the 60-meter dash, Fenderson holds the 7th best time (7.13 seconds) while Brunson is 10th (7.21 seconds) and Santos has recorded the 17th best time (7.31 seconds). Cheickna Traore enters the 200-meter race with the NJAC's top time (22.19 seconds) while he also holds the conference's top times in the 400-meter race (49.74 seconds) and 500-meter race (1:04.99). Andrew Sanchez will also compete in the 400-meter race as he has the 5th best time in the NJAC (50.86 seconds) while Nazzim Patilla is 8thin 51.28 seconds. This freshman quartet will look to place in the 4x400-meter race, they hold the conference's 2nd best time this season in 3:21.71.
 
In the 5,000-meter race, Ramapo holds four of the top ten times in the conference this season. Nicholas DeMarco holds the NJAC's top time in the 5k race in 15:16.62 while Eduardo Cermeno is 2nd in 15:39.52. Andersen and Jason Rodriguez hold the 3rd (4:23.61) and 7th (4:27.40) best time in the mile this season while Andersen will also compete in the 3k race. He's recorded the 8th best time in the conference in 8:52.38.
 
The 4x800-meter relay team has the top time in the conference (7:53.47) and will look to repeat as NJAC Champions. The team is made up of Rodriquez, De La Cruz, Dubac and Andersen.
 
In the field, Andrew Assile and Lucas Logue will compete in the weight throw. Assile has the 6th best mark (14.62-meters) and Logue holds the 11th best mark (13.88-meters). Greg Kleinow holds the NJAC's 5th best mark in the shot put (13.93-meters) while Daniel Simpson will compete in the triple jump. Simpson currently has the 9th best mark this season (12.92-meters) while he will also compete in the high jump where he holds the 10th best jump (1.80-meters). Jethro Melse will also compete in the high jump as he has the 8th best mark this season (1.84-meters).
