New York, NY: The Ramapo College women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Metropolitan Championships today at Icahn Stadium. The Roadrunners tallied 30 points as the team and finished ninth overall.
Dale Leonard was the team's top finisher in the meet as she grabbed second place in the 1500m run in 4:42.20.
Ashley Gordon finished in fifth place in the 100m finals with a time of 12.40 seconds, which qualifies her for the AARTFC meet later this season. She ran a personal best time of 26.20 seconds in the 200m dash, placing 13th overall. Madison Parker-Anderson finished in 12th place in the same event in 26.18 seconds, also a new personal best.
Victoria Romanov finished with a personal best time of 1:03.28 (15th) in the 400m while
Kamalah Williams finished in 18th place in 1:04.36.
Abby Petrolia crossed the finish line in the 800m run in 2:30.02 for a new personal best while
Brooke Meberg also posted a personal best time in 2:36.98. Meberg clocked in with her second personal best time of the meet in the 1500m run in 5:14.26 as did
Rea Pagatpatan (5:14.39),
Zoe Gregory (5:15.21),
Kiera Gregory (5:19.04) and
Frankie Cartagena (5:20.59). In the prelims of the 100m hurdles,
Abigail Jones posted a personal best time of 16.04 seconds. In the 400m hurdles, Regine Lladoc placed seventh overall in 1:14.33 seconds.
Bryanna Shepperson finished sixth overall in the high jump as she cleared 1.50 meters while Lladoc finished in seventh place clearing 1.45 meters.
Christina Chambers posted personal best marks in the hammer throw (24.22m) and discus (29.50m). The 4x400m relay team finished in fourth place overall with a combined time of 4:06.77. The team was made up of Williams, Leonard, Romanov and Jones.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, April 11th when they travel to Rutgers University for the Rutgers Relays.
